Electronic Monitoring Services

G4S is the world’s largest provider of electronic monitoring services. G4S currently monitor circa 12,000 subjects on electronically monitored curfews, across the North of England, East Midlands, Yorkshire, Humberside, South of England and the Isle of Man.

G4S checks that people are keeping to the curfew. This is done electronically using a tag and a monitoring unit.

Curfews are used throughout the criminal justice system (as a community service, condition of bail or as a condition of release from prison).

Electronic monitoring represents value for money, providing a cost-effective alternative to custody for offenders who do not pose a risk to the public.
